God's IDEA is a retreat geared toward high school youth that have been invited to explore their call to professional ministry. Congregational leaders are asked to invite one or two youth from their church in which they have seen gifts for professional church work. Each congregational leader or “inviter” will spend this retreat with their youth or “invitees” discovering what it means to work in professional ministry. Our discussion will include inviters and invitees identifying the gifts these students have for professional ministry and having meaningful conversations about what youth can do to begin their journey in exploring this call.

Sessions may include:

  • Gifts Inventory & Discussion

  • Bible Study & Worship

  • Presentations from Seminaries & Colleges

  • Teambuilding

  • Fellowship

  • Outdoor Camp Activities

  • Education & Discussion about Life as a Professional Church Worker

Cost

FREE! This includes lodging, meals, and programming for the weekend.

Pastors, Youth Directors, & Other Church Leaders:

This retreat is designed to be an opportunity for you to invite youth in your congregation in which you see specific gifts for future work in professional ministry.  Each church leader (adult) is welcome to bring 1-2 youth from their congregation that they are ready and willing to mentor. This means that youth must have an adult mentor present with them in order to attend this retreat. We encourage you to ask your youth in a way that in intentional and meaningful.
